County sets tax ask, budget for fiscal year 25/26

With no one showing up from the public to either observe or comment, the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners held its annual special hearings on the FY 2025-26 budget and tax request on Monday, followed by its regular Monday meeting wherein both the budget and tax asking were passed.

Chamber helps employers prepare for sick time law

Small and large businesses in the Aurora area have been getting some help in recent days with navigating a new law regulating paid sick time in Nebraska. The Nebraska Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, passed by a vote of the people in November of 2024, goes into effect Oct.

The Methodist Church in Aurora is celebrating multiple anniversaries this month. Not only is 2025 the 150th birthday of the two congregations that eventually merged to become the Aurora United Methodist Church, but Sept.
