Tom Oswald of 203 South O Road south of Aurora said he saw what looked like a July 4th sparkler near his century-old barn after dark on Monday night June 17.

Just from the sheer numbers of shoppers that could be seen perusing the wares on the sidewalks of Aurora’s downtown square in Friday’s warm and sultry weather, one would assume the revived sidewalk sales event was a rousing success.

Six Aurora veterans were honored with quilts of valor during this year’s A’RORN’N Days weekend. Darcy Greenough, Tanner Greenough, Jarod Greenough, Jeffrey Muilenburg, Jimmie Lewis Smith, and John Tessman were all honored.

A broken insulator at the electrical substation on Hampton’s northeast side by the water tower is being blamed for a power outage that impacted the entire village for about eight hours on Thursday. Hampton Utilities Supt. Chris Friesen says the power went out at about 11 a.m.
