Areas in Hamilton County have received anywhere from 3.1 to 4.9 inches of rain from April 23 to May 6, according to the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources website, bringing moisture to farms that have been parched since the start of a dry spell in December of last year.

As the weather warms up and the calendar turns into the summer months, most every farmer in Hamilton County has wrapped up their planting season.  Fresh out of a unique set of circumstances in 2020 -- flooding, a pandemic -- local voices also expressed contentment with the “status quo.
