For the second time this season, all four area teams won out on the football field.Despite wild wind conditions, Hampton held on late to defeat St. Edward 48-40, moving its record to 6-1 on Homecoming night. Jack Bullis scored four rushing touchdowns in the game while throwing for a fifth.

Friday night was heartbreak for multiple area teams on the gridiron.Both Aurora and High Plains lost single possession games to start the month of October as Aurora fell at Adams Central while HPC lost at home to Osceola.

The weather was nearly ideal and the ANR's area football teams took advantage.For the first time in 2023, it was a perfect 4-0 week for Aurora, Giltner, High Plains and Hampton during week six of the high school football season in the final Friday before October.

An area matchup on the gridiron was a big focus Friday night as HPC defended its home field.The Storm dominated in the second half to pick up a 65-26 win over Giltner on its Homecoming night. HPC led the game 30-20 at the half, holding the Hornets to a single touchdown in the fourth quarter.
