Girls wrestling is still fresh in Nebraska, but you wouldn’t know it looking around Saturday at the A-1 district meet in Fremont.  Both Aurora and High Plains were there competing for spots at next week’s state wrestling championships in Omaha and emotions were through the roof.
This railroad crossing on N Road, located on the west side of the Aurora ethanol plant, is one of three sites where accidents within the past two years have prompted railroad and NDOT officials to propose installing automated crossing signals later this year.

Accidents prompt 3 railroad crossings County commissioners learned Monday that Burlington Northern Railroad and the Nebraska Department of Roads are making plans to install three new railroad crossings in Hamilton County within the next year, based on reports of recent accidents at those locations.

Fifty teams and nearly 400 girl competitors were present at the second edition of the Norm Manstedt girls wrestling tournament, quickly becoming one of the most premier events statewide.
Dawn and Rusty Ogden stand by an RV with sewer pipe and skeletal Cousin Eddie from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” as well as the “Hanging with my Gnomies” sign won last year Hampton’s Annual House Decorating contest. A second place winner this year in the Hampton Christmas decorating contest, Rusty enjoys the work and community appreciation that comes with his decorations.
