The High Plains boys team has given fans its monies worth so far in the early part of the season.
For the second time in as many games, the Storm won on the game’s final play, this time making a last-second shot to defeat Fullerton 48-47 Dec. 7.
After a missed free throw by Fullerton to lead by two, 47-45, with 5.5 seconds left, HPC’s Lane Urkoski hustled the ball up the floor and launched a 38-foot prayer at the buzzer.
The shot banked in off the glass and Storm Nation went crazy as High Plains improved its record to 2-0 at the time.
