Husky fans were challenged Friday to think of the isolation and unease they have experienced during the pandemic as a struggle young cancer patients face every day.
Gary Peters, whose son Jacob lost his battle with cancer at a young age, spoke with passion during a brief halftime presentation at Aurora’s game against Scottsbluff. The crowd on both sides of the field responded generously, donating $1,376 to support the Pediatric Action Cancer Network.
“I think everybody has experienced at some point during this pandemic a feeling of isolation or quarantine where you haven’t been able to get out and do what you want to do and be where you want to be,” Peters said.
