High Plains was victorious Monday night in the D2-2 subdistrict semifinals, but had its home fans sweating it out for a minute or two.
The Lady Storm took down Nebraska Lutheran in three, 25-13, 25-23 and 25-22 in its home gym, setting up a third clash with Exeter-Milligan Tuesday night.
HPC co-coaches Nicole Keenan and Jenna Mattox let out a breath after the match, noting several positives from the night.
“Our practices leading up to tonight really focused on communication and fundamentals, especially on serve receive and defense,” Keenan said. “We worked on reading the other side of the floor and being consistent on our side.”
