Home cooking puts Huskies back on track
The Aurora boys soccer team got back on track with three games in a four-day stretch, winning two of the three.
The Huskies dropped a 4-0 game to Kearney Catholic April 6 before defeating Crete 2-1 Thursday and York 3-2 in overtime for a makeup game.
The win over York was special for a few unique ways, including the adverse rain and win, Aurora coach Madison Farris pointed out.
“The York game will be the one our guys will remember long after graduation, but not because of its cleanliness,” he said. “I think everyone who has ever played an outdoor sport in high school recalls a crazy rain game that they remember as one of the more fun games they’ve played in. York was very physical, but we certainly showed up to match that physicality early on.”
