Hawks building momentum with back to back victories
Hampton lights out on both sides of the ball in 58-18 win
The Hawks are soaring higher than ever in recent memory.
Hampton’s football team dominated its way to a second victory in a row out of its bye week, taking a 58-18 win at Heartland Lutheran Friday night.
The back-to-back victories for Hampton are the program’s first since the 2017 season, but there’s more.
Hampton’s overall record now sits above .500 at 3-2 for the first time in a decade. Hampton’s record is in the positive during the month of October for the first time since 2011 when the Hawks eventually finished with a 4-4 mark back in their 8-man days.
The year prior in 2010, the Hawks were also 3-2 to begin October before finishing the year 6-3.
Hampton coach Carson Klute is happy with where his team is sitting right now in terms of growth and improvement and the 3-2 record is great, but added this is a process and there’s still work on the table in the next three weeks.
