Senior night was full of wild momentum swings, tense moments and even a few light-hearted high fives with the kids.

Yet, by night's end, the visiting Hastings Tigers spoiled Aurora's night, defeating the Lady Huskies in five, 26-24, 13-25, 25-20, 25-27 and 15-11.

With Aurora's little diggers watching on, Aurora started the fifth set up 5-2 with help from Kasey Schuster, Rachel Hunter and Aleah Vinkenberg.

Lexi Jones and Hunter helped Aurora stay out front, 7-5, but only for a moment as Hastings went up 9-8.

From there, the Tigers used a 5-1 run to go up 13-9 and despite a block and kill from Delaney Nachtigal, pulled away to win the match.

It was Aurora's second five-set match in three days, defeating Seward in five Tuesday night. The Lady Huskies are now 3-2 in five-set matches.

Aurora has a week off before competing in next week's Central Conference tournament, set to begin Thursday. Aurora is the defending champions of the conference.
