Lady Hawks earn wins over Meridian, High Plains

In what could be the first of many for the foreseeable future, it was mentor-former player taking on one another from the coaches seat.
In their first matchup against one another, the mentor won.
Hampton, coached by Diane Torson, picked up a two-set victory over High Plains, coached by former Hawk player Brittany Klingsporn Oct. 6 in the nightcap of a triangular that also featured conference foe Meridian.
Torson, who’s coached the volleyball team in Hampton for more than 30 years noted she’s faced off with a few former players over the years in the coaches seat and has appreciated and enjoyed those moments.
