Friday night roundup week 7
Aurora was buzzing throughout Friday with Homecoming festivities and that carried right onto the turf as the Huskies pitched its second straight shutout to highlight week seven of the high school football season.
The Huskies contained a potent Lincoln Christian rushing attack and held the Crusaders off the scoreboard in a 48-0 Homecoming win. That's now nine straight quarters the Husky defense has gone without surrendering points, dating back to the Grand Island Northwest game.
Ian Jensen scored two rushing touchdowns to highlight the Aurora offense as the Huskies move to 4-3 on the season with a date against Milford on the road next Friday.
Hampton was on the road for an afternoon tilt in a top 10 showdown at Stuart as the defending champion Broncos were too much for the Hawks in a 53-20 score.
It's the first loss on the season for Hampton, now 5-1 and set to host Ansley-Litchfield next week for its last-ever regular season home game in its Final Flight season.
High Plains was also on the road Friday against a stout Lawrence-Nelson team as the Raiders ran away with it, 73-8. HPC rounds out the regular season next week at home against Deshler.
Due to injuries and low numbers, Giltner forfeited its home contest Friday against BDS. The Hornets are scheduled to finish out the regular season next week against Lawrence-Nelson.
