Friday night roundup week 7

Body

The High Plains football team fell behind early, but left no doubt in the end.

Powered by three Gage Friesen rushing touchdowns as well as a pick six, the Storm turned a 14-3 deficit into a 47-20 win at home Friday night.

The win moves HPC to a 5-2 record with one game left in the regular season. High Plains trailed by as much as 11 before taking a 17-14 lead to the half and pushing through four second half scores.

It wouldn't be the same type of success for the rest of the area as Aurora and Hampton each lost on the field.

The Huskies held a 21-18 lead before allowing two unanswered TD drives in the third quarter as Aurora could not answer the bell in the fourth.

As for Hampton, the Hawks had a huge district clash at home against Stuart and the Broncos rolled, 57-6.

Giltner was scheduled to play at BDS Friday but due to injury and illness, forefeited the contest.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:

Aurora @ Lincoln Christian, 30-21

High Plains vs Lawrence-Nelson, 47-20

Hampton vs Stuart, 57-6

Giltner @ BDS, 1-0 Forefit
