Friday night roundup week 5

Body

Homecoming night across Hamilton County provided plenty of fireworks.

The loud ovation just short of 10 p.m. Friday was the Huskies getting into the win column, rallying from a 28-0 deficit to defeat Grand Island Northwest, 36-35.

Aurora's Jayden Smith scored on a 4th and goal run up the gut to put the Huskies in a tie or win the game scenario.

The Huskies went for two and the win as Aurora ran some trickeration with Canon Allen taking the snap, pitching off to Booker Scheierman who found Asher Prins in the back corner for the conversion and keeping the Hammer home.

High Plains was locked in a telephone booth with BDS all night long as the undefeated Eagles used a fourth quarter pick six to secure the victory, 34-20.

Hampton got back on the right side of things with a big win at home while Giltner scored a season high in a loss to Nebraska Lutheran.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:

Aurora vs GINW, 36-35

High Plains vs BDS, 34-20

Hampton vs Heartland Lutheran, 59-8

Giltner vs Nebraska Lutheran, 56-42
