Friday night roundup week 3

Body

Friday the 13th wasn't a good night on the gridiron for most of our area football teams.

Just one of the four area teams picked up a win during week three action, that being the Hampton Hawks with a shutout in its home opener.

As for Aurora, the Huskies have fallen to 0-3 on the season, losing to Class C1 No. 1 Wahoo, 66-24.

Wahoo's Kip Brigham put together an insane statline, unofficially rushing for 362 yards on 14 carries with seven touchdowns and scoring eight times total.

Booker Scheierman scored twice with his feet and a third through the air, but it wasn't enough for the Huskies.

Giltner was held scoreless through its first two games and ended that streak Friday night as Hornet QB Brody Cummings scored four times. However, Blue Hill picked up the win in G-Town, 58-34.

HPC entered Friday with a 2-0 mark and faced its toughest task to date with a ranked Riverside team as the Chargers left Clarks with the victory.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:

Aurora vs Wahoo, 66-24

Giltner vs Blue Hill, 58-34

Hampton vs Harvard, 65-0

High Plains vs Riverside, 42-16
