Hampton kicked off its final season of Hawk football with a win, picking up a 43-14 win at home over Parkview Christian Friday to carry the flag for area teams starting the 2025 campaign.
The Hawks held a narrow 14-8 lead at the half that featured limited possessions on both sides before Hampton rallied for 21 third quarter points to lead 35-8.
The Aurora Huskies began the season Friday on the road at Pierce as the Bluejays used a stout run game to hang on in the fourth quarter, 27-21.
Wyatt Pollet threw three TDs for Aurora in the game with two in the fourth quarter. Canon Allen, Collin Stolpe and Ryan Staehr were on the receiving end of those throws.
High Plains and Giltner also began their respective seasons with the Storm posting a 16-8 win over Nebraska Christian while the Hornets fell to Twin River, 74-20.
