All three area teams were in action at Saturday's start to the Crossroads Conference volleyball tournament in York.
The most success of the three area teams came from No. 4 seeded High Plains, who defeated No. 13 McCool Junction in the opening round, 25-12 and 25-8. The next round wasn't as nice to the Storm, though, as HPC fell in straight sets to No. 5 Meridian, 25-15 and 25-18 in the quarterfinals.
No. 8 Hampton looked to be in a position to win against No. 9 Shelby-Rising City in the opening round, but the Huskies rallied late in the third to pick up the win, 20-25, 25-21 and 25-23.
No. 7 Giltner also found themselves in a three-set battle with No. 10 East Butler, but it was the Tigers pulling out the win in their opening round matchup, 25-21, 13-25 and 25-23.
