Aurora coach Kevin Asher was disappointed with the outcome of Saturday’s B-4 district final.
What the head Husky wasn’t upset with, however, was the grit and fight his team showed in an absolute raucous road environment.
No. 13 Aurora battled back to force overtime, but No. 4 Platteview was too much in the extra session as the Trojans advance to next week’s state tournament with a 58-52 win over the Huskies.
Asher was proud of the Huskies battling back multiple times to even have a shot at the win.
“We played a tremendous second half,” Asher noted. “We got to the rim and made shots. The momentum was even going into overtime and when you’re in a hostile environment, you want to get off to a good start and we just couldn’t do that.”
Aurora entered halftime in a bit of a slump, trailing Platteview 22-15 after the Trojans scored eight of the last 12 points in the second quarter.
