It was a tough open for Aurora's girls wrestling duo at Thursday's NSAA state wrestling championships in Omaha.

Aubrie Beed was leading her first round match against Omaha Central's Alsafa Alkhalil after a takedown late in the first period. It didn't end that way, though, as Beed was pinned late in the third period and will battle back in the consolation rounds tomorrow.

Natalie Bisbee faced a tough draw of Corah Linnaus from Stanton in the opening round as the Aurora senior was pinned in the third period. The sixth place finisher from a year ago will wrestle through the consolations Friday for a hopeful second medal.

The girls consolation rounds Friday begin at noon.
