Lexi Jones powered Aurora to a five-set win over GINW Tuesday night.
Another classic Aurora-Grand Island Northwest dual went down to the wire.
With a big hand from Lexi Jones, Aurora outlasted GINW in five, 25-21, 23-21, 25-23, 15-25 and 15-11 Tuesday night.
The Aurora junior netted 25 kills in the five-set win, her best of the season by seven.
A Rachel Hunter block party early in the fifth set gave Aurora a 6-4 lead before an attack from Delaney Nachtigal and block from Kasey Schuster and Madie Stevenson made it 9-5 and a Northwest timeout.
Swings from Stevenson and Nachtigal made it 12-7 before Aurora made it to match point at 14-8.
After GINW fought off three match points, Jones put the final stamp on as the Lady Huskies picked up a solid road win.
The Lady Huskies are now 2-0 in five-set matches. Earlier in the season, Aurora defeated York in five at home Sept. 2.
Aurora moves to 8-10 on the season and is set to host its home tournament Saturday.
