Ronda O'Neil

Body

Ronda Kay O’Neil passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Lincoln. Ronda was born on October 16, 1950, to Jessie (Stubblefield) and Robert O’Neil in Imperial. She was a third-generation Nebraskan and lived in the state her entire life.
Ronda attended High School in Ogallala and went on to become a special education teacher in Aurora. For thirty years, she faithfully mentored and guided her students, before retiring in 2009. Shortly thereafter, Ronda moved to Lincoln to be closer to family, including her mother and sister.
Throughout her life, Ronda was a person of faith and community. While in Aurora, she served as secretary for her church and (an educator through and through!) taught vacation Bible school. After moving to Lincoln, she became a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, which she attended every week until her passing.
But above all else, family was the most important thing in Ronda’s life. She had no children of her own, but doted upon her nieces, nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She adored her summer trips to Colorado, where several of those nieces, nephews, and their families now reside. Ronda also enjoyed shopping and, of course, cheering on the Huskers.
She is survived by her mother Jessie O’Neil; sisters Kathy O’Neil and Beverly Tranel; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ronda was preceded in death by her father Robert O’Neil.
Please send condolences to Jessie O’Neil c/o Beverly Tranel, 837 Norwood Dr, Lincoln, NE 68152. Memorials to Hamilton Community Foundation, 1108 L Street, Aurora, NE 68818.
