Monty Blackburn

Monty Dean Blackburn, age 77, of Stromsburg, passed away December 11, 2020 at his home in Stromsburg.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Monty was born May 25, 1943 to Everett Earl and Doris Effey (Jeffers) Blackburn in Aurora.
Monty grew up in Aurora and graduated from North Bend High School. He then lived in Alma and North Bend. He then joined the military serving in the United States Army, from August 14, 1961 until August 15, 1964 when he was honorably discharged.
On May 11, 1977 he was united in marriage to Linda Nadene Anthony in North Platte.  To this union six children were born.
The family lived in Shelby for nine years and Osceola for 20 years prior to  moving to Stromsburg where they have resided for the past 12 years. Monty worked as a house painter.
Survivors include children: Deanna of Pearl, Mississippi, Daniel of Osceola, Laura (Chase)  Smith of Stromsburg; Caleb of Pearl, Mississippi, Eric (Emily) of Shelby and Emily of Pearl, Mississippi; and six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Donna (Johnny) Gertuzen and Gay (John) Johnston, both of Aurora; other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
