Mary Ann Brazda, 87, of Polk, died at the Monarch by Eastmont in Lincoln.  Funeral services will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Trinity United Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. with Ricardo Riqueza officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, November 5, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral in Polk.  Burial will be at a later date.

Mary was born on March 31, 1934 to Charles and Antonette ( Vana) Truka in Wilber.  She grew up and attended school in Wilber graduating in 1952.  She married Robert Brazda on May 12, 1953 in Lincoln.  She worked at the Nebraska Book Store in Lincoln, Frontier Airlines in Denver and finally moved to the farm near Polk where they lived from 1959 till present. She also worked at The Hearthstone in York for several years as a cook.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Polk and taught Sunday School.   She was a member of the Garden Club, Quilting Club and the Polk Senior Center.  Mary enjoyed bowling, quilting, and playing cards.  She was very talented and enjoyed baking and decorating wedding cakes.
She is survived by her husband Robert of Polk; three daughters Becky ( Scott) Bailey of Omaha; Bobbi (Merle) Fratzke of Pleasanton; and Robin Lezott of Polk;  two brothers Charles ( Olga) Truka of Wilber; Bob (Karen) Truka of Lincoln; four grandchildren- Michael and Matthew Bailey of Omaha; Jake Lezott of Pennsylvania and Eann Lezott of Colorado; great-grandchildren Josiah, Levi,  and Norah Bailey.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Brazda; sister Norma Bechtolt;  sister Lillian Vogeltanz; and brother Mike Truka.
