Linda Davis
Linda (Ault) Davis of Memorial Community Care in Aurora passed away March 31, 2025. Linda was born January 3, 1947 and was adopted by Albert and Ila May Ault as an infant.
In the early 1970’s she married Mark Davis. The couple lived in Aurora from 1976 to 1985 and she became an integral part of the life of his three-year-old son, Robert. Linda and her husband were both members of the Baha’I Faith and were members of one of the earliest Spiritual Assemblies in Aurora.
Linda was a talented graphic artist employed in that capacity with several different area companies, including Lippincott and Chief Industries. She was particularly well known for her calligraphy. In later years, she teamed up with another artist and friend, Geraldine Sader to market their creations. They attended many area art festivals and later offered their work through the internet. In the year 2000 Linda and Geraldine returned to live in the Aurora community.
In the spirit of service, Linda was founder and CEO of “Those kids from Nebraska” part of the Mid Nebraska Community Foundation , Inc. The organization was a nonprofit foundation focusing on research and development in the area of social services and humanities.
Her commitment to service extended not only to people, but to animals. She and her friend Geraldine shared custody of a small, French bulldog. She gave refuge to many a stray cat and provided for them even when faced with personal financial challenges.
Linda was a strong adherent to her Baha’I Faith. She was devastated by the death of her longtime friend, Geri, who died in 2017. And seeing death as joyful transition, in returning to her creator, Linda also looked forward to reunion with her friend. In the words shared by Baha’u’llah, the prophet/founder of the Baha’I Faith, “I have made death a messenger of joy to thee. Wherefore dost thou grieve? I made the light to shed on thee its splendor. Why dost thou veil thyself therefrom?”
Linda is survived by her stepson, Robert Davis of Aurora. Baha’I friends throughout Nebraska will miss her warmth and light.
Higby-Mc Quiston Mortuary Inc. of Aurora provided funeral arrangements. A graveside service at the Aurora Cemetery will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 1:30 pm. Memorials should be made on behalf of the Family and submitted directly to Higby-Mc Quiston (1404 L St, Aurora, NE 68818) to help defray final expenses.
