Gladys Huebner, age 86, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Memorial Community Care.
Gladys’ wishes were to be cremated.  A Graveside Service will be held for family and friends on Monday, November 6 at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. Pastor David A. Feddern will officiate. Inurnment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. No Visitation. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.   Condolences may be sent to the family through the mortuary website at  www.higbymortuary.com.
Gladys Marie Huebner was born August 17, 1937, in Hamilton County, and was the daughter of Albert and Dorothea (Kohtz) Dissmeyer and passed away in Aurora, on November 1, 2023, at the age of 86.
Gladys was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School in 1954.   Gladys worked in accounting for almost 25 years retiring in 1980.  
On July 14, 1957, she married Jimmie C. Huebner of Alda,  at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. They lived in Grand Island until Jim retired in 1990.   They moved to Forsyth, Missouri and eventually Springfield, Missouri.   Gladys moved back to Nebraska after the death of her husband on March 12, 2011.
Gladys enjoyed playing cards, games, watching Major League Baseball, crafts and attending craft shows with her sister, Gloria and their husbands for many years.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Gloria Bamesberger and brother-in-law, Roderick Huebner.
Survivors include brother-in-law, LaVerne (Bernie) Bamesberger of Marquette; niece, Robin (Steve) Hansen of Aurora and nephew, Craig (Kris) Bamesberger of Omaha; niece, Diana Huebner; niece, Gayle (Carl) Woods, both of Grand Island; several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews and many friends.
