Chris was born March 31, 1965 to Duane and Myrna (Boardman) Beed in Grand Island. She grew up in Alda. In 1979, she moved with her family to Fullerton. She graduated from Fullerton High School. After graduation, she attended beauty school in Fremont and opened a beauty shop in Orleans. In 1987, she gave birth to her daughter, Calestine “Cali.” She met Thomas Rice and was united in marriage in 1988. They made their home in Fullerton, where she worked at the nursing home. In 1993, they moved to Aurora where they resided for 26 years before moving back to Fullerton. She was a bus driver for Fullerton Public Schools before resigning due to health.

Chris’s absolute love in her life was her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and she would do anything for them. She also loved to camp, fish and Husker football. She would spend most of her day hollering at her husband (in a loving way) on what he could possibly be doing now. She was a very hard worker and was always willing to help people.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Thomas Rice of Fullerton; daughter, Cali Stern of Fullerton; step-son, Patrick Fuller of Puyallup, Wash.; grandchildren, Elliot (Paige Bernt) Stern, Skyler Stern, Lillian Stern, and Axel Stern; mother, Myrna Beed of Fullerton; siblings, Duane Beed of Aurora, Kirk (Sue) Whitford of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marvin (Angela) Beed of Fullerton, and Celeste (Regan) King of Albion; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Duane Beed; sister, Audra Shivley; grandparents, Marvin and Mary Boardman and Charles and Fern Beed; and niece, Isabella Baustian.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
