Brenda Grupe

Brenda Lynn Grupe, 49, of Englewood, Colo., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021.
Per her wishes there will be no funeral services as she wanted to have her body donated to science.
A private family celebration of life will be at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the family for future designation.
Brenda was born to Lynn and Becky Packer (Ostrander) on Feb. 19, 1972 in Grand Island. She married Derek Grupe in 1989 which blessed us all with her two children, Justin and Brittany. She loved her little ones and was so proud to show them off to everyone. Every picture with them shows her beaming.
She endured more health challenges over the past several years than anyone should have to go through. Many of these periodically had her near death. Cancer, surgeries, hypoglycemia. Tremendous pain, overloaded with medications made travel and visiting on the phone nearly impossible. She was tough and determined to get through each trial so she could again see family. Her contagious laughter and ways to make others happy as they celebrated life will be forever missed.
Her life partner and caregiver, Derek Duvak stood by her side, helping her endure each pain.
Survivors include her son, Justin Grupe of Phillips; daughter, Brittany (Grupe) Saul of Wood River; parents, Lynn Packer of Grand Island and Becky (Mark) Otto of Aurora; siblings, Brandon (Alycia) Packer of Grand Island, Aaron Otto of Roeland Park, Kans., Ann (Lee) Buchanan of Olsburg, Kans., Alex (Janessa) Otto of Overland Park, Kans., grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews she loved dearly; life partner, Derek Duvak who was an invaluable blessing to her; her fur babies, Cain, Spirit and Sabre.
