Arlene Joseph
Arlene Joseph, age 91, of Hampton, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 20 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Dan Barbey will officiate. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery northeast of Hampton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Betty Shelton Healing Garden %Brown County Hospital, 945 East Zero Street, Ainsworth, NE 69210, St. Peter Lutheran Church or Orphan Grain Train. Arlene Joseph, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Shoeneck) Heine was born on November 5, 1930 at Thayer, and passed away on June 15, 2022 at Aurora, at the age of 91.
Arlene was baptized, attended parochial school and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Thayer. She graduated from York High School in 1948.
On June 16, 1955, Arlene was united in marriage to Arnold (Arnie) Joseph. To this union three children were born: Betty, Anita and Gene. They farmed northeast of Hampton until 1969, when they moved into Hampton and started their new business Joseph Electric. Arnie passed away on September 19, 1993.
Arlene was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She participated in Eunice LWML, Bible classes, served on the finance board, banner committee and enjoyed sewing quilt tops for Orphan Grain Train. She was also active in promoting Hampton as a member of the Hampton Community Club, Hampton Development Corporation and Hampton Homemakers.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnie; daughter Betty (Rodney) Shelton; brothers and their wives, Martin (Marie) Heine, Herbert (Adella) Heine, Walter (Lucille) Heine and George Heine; her sisters and their husbands, Esther (Paul) Sackschewsky, Helen (Erwin) Pohl and three infant siblings; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Dorothy Joseph, R.C. and Evelyn Joseph, Gerhard and Norma Joseph, Robert and Lillian Joseph and Delbert and Roberta Sackschewsky.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Anita (Marvin) Shields of Lincoln and Gene (Karen) Joseph of Hampton; son-in-law, Rodney (Diana) Shelton of Ainsworth; 4 grandchildren, Mandy (Michael) Wellman, Sarah (John) Kyros, Aaron Joseph and Angela (Michael) Hempel and 8 great-grandchildren, Tenley, Taelyn, Grace, Abel, Frida, Sabrina, Seth and Stephanie. She is also survived by and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
