Agnes was one of eleven children born to Birger and Ethel (Timmons) Benson on May 25, 1925, in Hordville. She grew up in the Hordville area, where she attended school and graduated from Hordville High School in 1942. Following graduation, she continued her education at Central Nebraska Teachers College, earning her teaching certificate.
On June 20, 1946, Agnes was united in marriage to Bernard Andreasen at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville. Together, they were blessed with five children: Linda, Thomas, Karla, Becky, and Todd. The couple lived briefly in Central City before returning to the Hordville community, where they built their life together. Agnes devoted herself to her family as a homemaker, raising the children and helping with daily chores on the farm.
She was an active member of Fridhem Lutheran Church, the ELCA Ladies Group, and the Merry Mothers’ Social Club. Agnes found joy in simple pleasures, solving crossword puzzles, baking, sewing, writing poetry and short stories, and watching cardinals.
Agnes is lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ken Klaasmeyer, and Becky Andreasen and L.D. Glatter; her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Vicki Andreasen; six grandchildren, John (Brianna), Aaron (Jessica), Megan (Brian), Timeree, Neil, and Hannah; and seven great-grandchildren, Brilyn, Greyson, Brody, Henry, Knox, Claire, and Eleanor, along with many nieces and nephews.
Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard; her parents; her ten siblings, Carl, Albin, Verner, Clarence, Harold, Esther, Eddie, Floyd, Elmer, and Audrey; her children, Thomas and Karla; and her grandson, Adam, all of whom she now joins again.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care, kindness, and love Agnes received during her time at Heritage Sagewood Assisted Living and Aseracare Hospice. The comfort, dignity, and support you provided meant more to our family than words can fully express, and we will always be deeply thankful for the tenderness and respect shown to her each day.
