Giltner firefighters put out grass fire along C Road

The Giltner Fire Department was called to a grass fire on Monday at 11:40 a.m. The blaze was burning along the west side of C Road west of Giltner. Giltner Fire Chief Brad Consbruck reported that, while the cause of the fire isn’t known, it may have been started by a discarded cigarette. About an acre of vegetation was burned and firefighters successfully extinguished the flames less than 15 minutes after arriving on scene. Firefighters remained on scene to put out remaining hot spots and returned to the station at 12:40 p.m.
