Evnen response ‘a blatant lie’
Dear Editor:
Sen. Lippincott did a great job describing all the different facets of the Secretary of State office last week. I appreciate the weekly informative, thought-provoking articles by our senator. I have great respect for Sen. Lippincott and rarely have we disagreed, but last week I could not agree with his seeming praise of SOS Bob Evnen regarding the handling of our elections. Evnen may do a great job in other areas, but when it comes to the integrity of our elections, in my book, Evnen has failed.
On Sept. 8, 2025, Evnen received a letter from the DOJ requesting our state voter roll be submitted by Sept. 22, 2025. In a recent official letter from SOS Evnen, he makes a statement saying, “Before I could comply with this request, I was blocked by a lawsuit brought forth by a left-leaning organization called Common Cause.”
Let’s review the dates involved…Sept. 8 to the 22nd. The lawsuit was filed on Sept. 22. Let’s see…he had 14 days to submit the voter roll before the lawsuit was filed! What was blocking him those 14 days? Do you call that honest? I don’t! Evnen knew this was coming when in March 2025 President Trump put out his first executive order regarding election integrity. Evnen had plenty of time to respond. He even had our State Attorney General Hilgers’ advice to respond before the deadline. But he didn’t! He waited for the last minute on Sept. 22, then, “Oops! I Can’t do it! There’s a lawsuit.” I call that a blatant lie!
There’s far more I would like to share about my concern for election integrity and transparency. I strongly encourage everyone to listen to people like Mike Lindell, Mark Cook, Professor Clements and Dr. Frank, plus many more who have laid down their lives and fortunes as did our Founding Fathers for the sake of freedom in our nation.
