Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all

Body

Dear Editor:
The evening seemed just like any other
except perhaps for Gods sons’ mother.
Joseph led a donkey, carrying a woman about to give birth,
into a stable where the Christ child would soon be born on earth.

So that wonderful day is remembered, it’s celebrated during this season.
I hope that on Christmas day, everyone will remember to include this reason.
Of course there is also the blessing, that allows me to write a poem such as this.
Insinuating the world is entangled, with a strange diminishing ideological bliss.

Biblical history implies the birthing weather was really quite pleasant.
Luckily no activist crowd had yet gathered, just two people were present.
Nudge your family to eat a meal together, whether it seems like crow or pheasant,
because now we can all have eternal life, both the rich and impoverished peasant.

Both the poem writer and his wife are very alive,  both are doing pretty well,
although we’re octogenarians, we hope words, actions and writing kind of tell.
We still really like each other, been known to cuddle much like a young lover,
We like holding hands when walking, over each other we just seem to hover.

Contagious Holiday Greetings and a Happy 2026 from Joanie and Ross Beins.
