Barn Quilt Trail to help celebrate nation’s 250th
Dear Editor:
Barn quilts are fun to design and to paint. Area organizations are invited to contribute a barn quilt for the Barn Quilt Trail at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds to help celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday in 2026.
The Eager Achievers 4-H club has purchased and primed 4’X4’ plywood boards for these barn quilts. Our goal is to have a total of 16 quilts for this barn quilt trail around the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. To accomplish this next year, the barn quilts can be entered in open class or 4-H this year at the 2025 fair. That gives the Ag Society time to install the barn quilts around the fairgrounds for 2026.
We are encouraging area groups to participate by painting a barn quilt for the 2025 Hamilton County Fair. These could be civic organizations, school groups, churches, 4-H and FFA clubs and other groups. The only requirement is to put the organization name in the lower right hand corner in 1” letters. Please use exterior grade paint.
The prepared boards and instructions are available for pick-up at the courthouse, on the west table in the lower level.
Beth Andrews,
Eager Achiever 4-H Club Leader
