Easter Egg Hunts are springing up throughout Hamilton County

The Easter Bunny will be a busy bunny in Hamilton County over the next couple of weekends. With Easter Sunday falling on April 20 this year, Easter egg hunts are planned throughout the area sponsored by various groups starting this Saturday.

MCHI Easter Egg Hunt
First up is the Memorial Community Health Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Community Care this Saturday, April 12 from 2-3:30 p.m. With three age divisions, every child will have a chance to collect eggs and enjoy the excitement. We have it on good authority that the Easter Bunny will be putting in a special appearance.  

Edgerton Eggstravaganza 
Set for this Sunday, April 13 from 1-4 p.m. is the Edgerton Eggstravaganza, sponsored by the Optimists Club of Aurora. The event starts with “Egg”citing science labs including hands-on exhibits to explore between 1 and 3:45 p.m. 
Starting at 2 p.m. is the Amazing Bubbles demonstration followed at 2:45 by the SPLAT Egg Drop Construction contest. Children will be challenged to build a structure that will protect a raw egg from breaking when dropped from a height of 20-30 feet.
Easter Egg Hunts start at 4 p.m. starting with ages 0-3 and followed by ages 7 and up and finally ages 4-6.

Messiah Lutheran Church Easter Egg Hunt
All children are invited to come to Messiah Lutheran Church at 415 S 18th St. in Aurora on Saturday, April 19 to help the Easter Bunny pick up the eggs he dropped! There will be a fire truck and prizes. The event will take place from 10 to 11 a.m.

Giltner Easter Egg Hunt
Children in Giltner will be able to find their Easter eggs at the Giltner City Park on Saturday, April 19. Organizers of the event, the Giltner Area Development Corporation, remind egg hunters the event will start at 10:30 a.m. “sharp.” There will be different areas for four age groups: One year to PreK, Pre-K and kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders and 3rd and 4th graders. Hampton Easter Egg Hunt
An Easter egg hunt is also planned by United Lutheran Church in Hampton on Saturday the 19th. The event will be held in the church yard located at 812 1st Street and the time will be announced next week.

Ultimate Easter Egg Hunt
The Ultimate Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Hamilton County Youth Center and Aurora 8th graders, is set for Saturday, April 19 from 2-4 p.m. on the courthouse lawn on the square in Aurora. Different areas of the courthouse lawn will be designated for the various age groups. Children in grades K-5 are asked to bring their own bags or baskets for the eggs. The pre-hunt gathering place will be the courthouse parking lot.  

First Light’s Annual Egg My Yard 
Some children will be able to find candy-filled eggs on Easter Sunday without even leaving their own yard. Parents can order pre-filled Easter eggs to be hidden in their yard on April 19th, the night before Easter. All of the proceeds will benefit First Light Child Advocacy Center, which provides vital assistance to child victims in Hall, Hamilton and Merrick Counties. Orders can be placed by calling First Light at 308-385-5238 but spots are limited.
