Carole Byall
Carole Lynne Byall, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2024, at her son’s home in Arvada, Colorado after a hard battle with cancer.
Born on June 24, 1941, in Long Beach, California to Lawrence and Cletys Traudt, she grew up on a farm outside Henderson, where her family farmed the land. She cherished her Nebraska roots and often returned to spend time at her childhood home.
Carole Lynne attended Sterling College in Kansas, where she laid the foundation for her career in education. She later earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She spent her career as a teacher, with a special focus on supporting kids as a special education teacher. She retired from Lyons Junior/Senior High School, where she had a lasting impact on many students’ lives.
A proud mother to four children, Carole Lynne loved her family fiercely. She is survived by: Shannon Byall (Francis Roque), Blake Byall (Risa Byall), Tiffany Voeller (Chris Voeller), and Cameron Byall (Andrea Byall). She adored her grandchildren—Luca (21), Tate (19), Wren (10), and Reid (8)—and treasured every moment spent with them.
She was one of five sisters: Becky Traudt (who passed away in 2010), Vikki Mikysa of Evergreen, Colorado, Laurie Underwood (who passed away in 1990), and Robin Jahraus of Hilo, Hawaii.
A woman of many talents and interests, Carole Lynne loved to garden and was a Colorado Master Gardener who found great joy in judging projects at the county fair. She was an accomplished cook, an avid thrift shopper, and a voracious reader. She was never without a dog or cat—often both—and loved the companionship of the pets who shared her life over the years. Carole Lynne also gave back to her community as a school volunteer, hospice volunteer, and an active member of her church. Her love for Nebraska, family gatherings and traditions, and gardening defined much of her life. Her loyalty, wit, and pride were evident to all who knew her. Above all, her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Carole Lynne’s life was held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at King of Glory Church in Loveland, Colorado.
