Judy Swenson

Judy Swenson, age 80, of Grand Island, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Lebensraum in Grand Island.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 25, at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Pastor Josh Sikes will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery.   No Visitation.  Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.      Condolences may be sent to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Judith J. Swenson, the daughter of Paul R. and Bessie M. (Oswald) Springer, was born in Hastings, on May 3, 1944 and passed away on November 15, 2024, at Grand Island, at the age of 80.
Judy was raised in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School.    Judy earned an associates degree.  She worked for the State of Nebraska in Health and Human Services for most of her career.   Judy raised her four children: Paul, Joel, Heidi and Joshua.   Over the years, Judy lived in Aurora, Broken Bow, Lincoln and for the last several years in Grand Island.
Judy was a very active member of the Third City Christian Church in Grand Island.
Judy enjoyed making art and crafts, tole painting, playing the piano and playing cards.   Judy especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.    
She was preceded in death by her parents.     
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Paul (Bridgette) Swenson of Malcolm, Joel Swenson of Kearney, Heidi Swenson of Grand Island and Joshua (Jennifer) Swenson of Rockford, IL; 5 grandchildren, Nathan and Sienna Swenson of Malcom and Elliott, Soren and Ferris Swenson of Rockford, IL.   She is also survived by her three sisters, Connie (Jerome) Yeutter of Branson, MO, Carolyn Johnston of Monument, CO and Patricia (Reynold) Peters of Beach Park, IL and other family members and friends.
