On April 24, 1981 he married the love of his life Kay Dubbs. They raised two sons, Jeremy and Justin. They made their homes in Wood River, Aurora, Grand Island and rural Phillips.
After high school he joined the Nebraska Army National Guard. His basic training was at Ft. Knox Kentucky. Adolph served this nation honorably for 22 years and retired a Sergeant.
Adolph has always been a hard worker; from working on the farm growing up, and washing windows at 76 in Alda. He worked at Chief Industries for many years, as well as drove truck for Roger Dettmer, GICC, Countryside, and lastly O’Neill Resources. He was a kind, and caring person. He especially loved his grandchildren, Cody, Maggie, Lilly, Jaqoious, Martin, and step-granddaughters, Brooklynn, Tatum, Oxanna.
He married Carleen Gregory on March 18, 2022.
He always enjoyed attending his kids and grandchildren’s activities. He enjoyed playing pitch until he thought you were cheating.
Adolph was active in the Elks Lodge in Grand Island helping, cooking many meals, and served on various committees. He was a 36 year member of the lodge and served as Exalted Ruler in 1994-95. He enjoyed the Elks Camping Club which he helped start. He spent many nights in the stands and the pits at the car races watching family and friends’ race. Adolph was very proud to be an American and a veteran. If you didn’t stand or remove your hat for the flag, he would make you wish that you had. He was so proud when his nephew Tanner joined the Marines to serve our country. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Phillips Vol. Fire Dept., and a past member of the Eagles and the Platt-Duetche. When not at work, he was eating and breathing Green Bay Packers football. He loved to throw a win in family and friends faces if they liked the opposing team.
