Phyllis F. Willuweit, age 95, longtime Kearney resident, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Christian Homes in Holdrege.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2023 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home with Pastor James DeLoach officiating.  Burial will follow at the Kearney Cemetery.  Visitation will be an hour prior to services on Friday.  Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Breast Cancer Foundation.  Please visit www.hlmkfuneral.com to leave a tribute or message of condolence.  Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis was born November 11, 1928 in Aurora, to Henry and Mabel (Mideke) Tuepker.  She lived and worked there until she married Clement Willuweit on November 13, 1955 in Kearney.  He preceded her in death on February 19, 2011.  
Over the years Phyllis worked for the Hamilton County School Superintendent, Zion Lutheran Church, and the Kearney Hub.  She was also the bookkeeper for Central Barber Shop, her husband’s business.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active with the Zion senior citizen’s group until her husband died.  She enjoyed baking, working Sudoku puzzles, and genealogy.  
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Joy and her husband Melvin, of Lincoln and Rita Smith and her husband, Mark of Kearney; grandchildren Sydney and Megan Smith of Kearney; a great-grandson on the way; and a sister, Shirley Dyson of Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Alvena Garrido.
