Darrell Loftis
Darrell D. Loftis, 69, of Central City, died on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Bryan Medical Center – East Campus in Lincoln. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Nelson Rossi officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Hartington Cemetery.

Darrell Dean Loftis was born on January 9, 1952 to Warren and Leanna (Konken) Loftis in Yankton, South Dakota. Darrell grew up in several communities in Nebraska, until 1969 when the family moved to Central City. He graduated from Central City High School in 1970. Following his graduation, Darrell was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country during the Vietnam War. After Darrell’s service to his country, he moved to California for six years, before returning to Central City. While in Central City, he worked for Chief Industries, Atlantic Homes, and Lindsey Manufacturing. He would remain in Central City until his death.
Darrell enjoyed collecting antiques and gardening, but his greatest love was getting to spend time with his kids and grandkids.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Jason Loftis of Colorado, Nicholas Parker of Central City, and Nathan Loftis of Lincoln, his sister; Karen (Scott) Butcher of Aurora, and his three grandchildren: Mady, Sophia, and Lyric.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Jacob Loftis and brother, Neal Loftis.
