Aurora unable to upset Bennington
Aurora gave a whale of an effort, but it just wasn't meant to be.
The Lady Huskies had upset on their minds Friday, but Bennington was too much to handle as the Badgers won the B-3 district softball title to qualify for state and end Aurora's season.
The B-3 final was a best of three series and Aurora had things going in the first game.
Kaelin Sparr had two RBIs in the early innings that tied the game at 3 going to the bottom of the third.
Two Bennington solo homers gave the Badgers a 5-3 lead before leading 6-3 after five.
Taryn McKinney added an RBI in the sixth, but Aurora couldn't rally in the seventh despite 10 hits in the game.
After winning game one, it was all Bennington in game two as the Badgers won 10-0 to end Aurora's season.
The Lady Huskies finish the 2021 season with a 21-12 record. The 21 wins are the second most in team history.
