Kevin Klawonn
Kevin Klawonn, age 67 of Hampton died suddenly Wednesday March 3, 2021.
Per Kevin’s request there will be a private family burial. Please join us for a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday March 9 followed by coffee and cookies (Kevin style) at Countryside Bible Church near Hampton. Kevin Willard Klawonn of Hampton was born in Aurora, on Nov. 23, 1953 to Willard and Wanda (Wall) Klawonn as their only child.
Kevin was married on Feb. 27, 1982 to Beverly Petersen. To this union two children were born Jason (JK) Klawonn and Janet (Klawonn) Steager.
Kevin married Miriam (Crawford) on Nov. 4, 2006 and gained 3 bonus children, Alycia, Chelsy, and Luke.
Growing up he attended Hampton Lutheran school until 8th grade then continued to Hampton High School. Following graduation, he attended Hastings CCC focusing on automotive repair.
The satisfaction at the end of a productive day was the work ethic found in Kevin. A lifetime as a Nebraska farmer with the successes and struggles that came with it. This was instilled in him from his parents. Not only did he have pride in his farm but had a deep connection to the home place that he lived on for over 40 years total. For three decades he operated Double K Trucking and at one time had 11 leased drivers. Outside of his occupations, he was dedicated to service in the church. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church outside of Hampton. Later he was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. There he served many roles including Head Usher, Elder, and weekly operation of the sound system. He also served on Hampton Lutheran School Board for several years. Recently he has been attending Countryside Bible Church. In the community he was involved with the Village of Hampton serving on the Village Board for 12 years including time as the Chairman. With his daughter Janet, he umpired and coached girls’ softball teaching and guiding the team for a number of years. Business ventures with his wife Mim included KeepsakeStudio and Country Lavender Farm. His latest passion was Creekside Firearms Training, holding classes for over 2 years. He enjoyed being a licensed NRA Instructor and shined when working with and training new students.
Survivors include wife Miriam (Mim) of Hampton, former wife Beverly of Hampton, children Jason Klawonn, Janet Steager and grandson Ryder of Hampton, Alycia and Brian Litz, grandson Ethan of Hampton, Chelsy and Darius Tellez, granddaughters Olivia, Sophia, Jovia, and Victoria of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Luke Jurgensen and fiancé Brittany, grandsons Keaton, Owen, and Caden of Bel-Air, KS and his four-legged companion, Sam.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
