Highlight plays carry Aurora past CC

Subhead

Aurora made plays all over the diamond Thursday, both at the plate and in the field during an 11-2 win at Central City.

One of its biggest defensive plays was not-your-normal 6-3-5 double play to keep Central City off the board.

Then there was Zarian Arends robbing Central City of a home run, crashing into the center field fence and keeping more runs off the board.

Offensively, Aurora put together an 8-run third inning, highlighted by a solo homer from Kaleigh Metzger and a bases clearing double from Taryn McKinney, who also pitched a complete game on the mound.

Aurora moves to 9-4 on the season and will be in action again Saturday at the GINW tournament.
