A vote taken at a special meeting held by the Heartland Community Schools Board of Education last Wednesday night in Henderson confirmed a new sports cooperative agreement between Heartland and Hampton Public Schools, just 12 miles down the road.

Members of the Aurora United Methodist Church were able to admire the new glow of the church’s large cross in the sanctuary during their Feb. 2 Sunday worship after spending two weeks restoring the fabric around the cross.

Serving as only the 2nd president of the newly formed Giltner High School FFA chapter, junior  Avery Reeson is following in the footsteps of her older brother, Cooper and is dedicated to making the chapter known in Giltner and across Nebraska.

Wearing the familiar blue jacket is a source of pride for Lukas Fry, a local native who envisions a possible future in agriculture thanks in part to his experience in FFA.
High Plains senior Allie Howell grew up around animals, showing all different kinds at the Polk County Fair growing up and has since enjoyed her time working with animals as part of the HPC FFA program. Howell serves as the chapter’s president for the 2024-25 school year.
