The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton set out with a merry mission this holiday season -- to share food with their community.
“Usually we do a big feed in December,” Sharon Klute said. “It’s called Merry Meatball Mania and we feed our congregation. Because of COVID, we decided to do this can tree for the pantry and help out Hamilton County with all the food that we’re collecting here.”
Together with fellow member Loa Winters, they encouraged churchgoers to bring in donations, in the hope of building a tree tall enough to reach the balcony.
