Edgerton after-school clubs have lasting impact for youth
For the past nine years the Edgerton Explorit Center has been connecting students with science with after-school clubs -- Gizmo & Gadgets for kindergarten through fifth grade and Seriously Science for second through fifth-grade students.
Executive Director Mary Molliconi explained that the younger club works on science projects, arts and crafts and physical activity while Seriously Science delves more deeply for students that are really interested in science.

Young entrepreneur finds huge success in small slime business
It’s not such a sticky situation for kid-entrepreneur Chaz Boeder.
The Aurora 10-year-old has officially turned his love for slime into a profitable creative venture under the Chaz B. Creatives brand. 
“I went to Wisconsin this summer and when my mom and dad came to pick me up, we went to this farmer’s market and there was a girl that was selling slime,” Chaz began. “I bought some and I liked it. I played with it a little too much.”

HPC sees staffing changes on horizon
With the retirement of Supt. Brian Tonniges and current elementary principal Kim Beran stepping into the superintendent role, the High Plains Community School Board voted Monday to fill the vacant principal position.
It was a unanimous vote to move Breanne Helgoth to the role. She is currently the fourth through sixth grade English Language Arts teacher.

Lady Huskies extend win streak to 4
Aurora’s win streak moved to four over the weekend while accomplishing a rare feat Friday night. 
Every player on Aurora’s bench scored points for the Lady Huskies in a dominating 75-13 win over conference foe Schuyler at home. 
Aurora coach Kelly Boshart observed after the game that the team’s confidence continues to grow as the wins have started to pile up.

Seniors propel High Plains Storm past Hampton
In what was a winnable game for both teams, senior leadership from High Plains stood out. 
HPC’s Tanner Wood was a calm force for the Storm all night, including 21 points with 8 of 12 free throw shooting as the visitors defeated Hampton 46-37 Thursday night. 
HPC coach and Tanner’s father Greg Wood pointed out after the game that it was nice to see High Plains succeed in a situation they’ve admittedly struggled with in the past.
