Badura shares life-threatening battle with West Nile

It all started with a mosquito bite.
Ten months later Jennifer Badura still doesn’t know if that bite came on a camping trip to Fort Kearney, in the back yard of the family’s home in Aurora or at recess on the playground in York, where she works as a middle school guidance counselor. What she does know is that on Sept. 8 of last year she quite suddenly felt ill, beginning a downward spiral that knocked her off her otherwise extremely healthy feet. Badura shares her harrowing battle with what was eventually diagnosed as West Nile Virus, which turned into viral meningitis, in this week's ANR.

See detailed report in this week's ANR.
