According to Hamilton County Emergency Manager Kirt Smith, COVID case numbers have gone up and then back down since the last time he met with commissioners.
“The week prior to last week, Hamilton County had 122 new cases, with 188 being tested, with a 65 percent positivity rate,” Smith reported to Monday’s Hamilton County Board of Commissioners meeting.
For clarification, this date range referenced ran from approximately Jan. 18-25.
“Then, on the first of February, we had 60 new cases -- so we cut those in half -- with 87 tests,” he continued. “Which our positivity rate was 69 percent, (but) because there were fewer tested.”
