School bells ring

Aurora kindergarten teacher Kim Staehr leads her kindergarten class into the building for the first day of school Thursday on a beautiful morning where the skies, eager students and teachers all shared a sunny disposition. Students gathered outside the building in front of signs for each designated class, a carryover strategy from last year's COVID protocol. The process worked so well in relieving hallway congestion that the outdoor gathering approach was used again this year.
