Scare the Square will be boo-ming back in spook-tacular fashion Thursday at 5 p.m. on the courthouse parking lot with the downtown square closed at 4 p.m. to make way for all the little boys and ghouls who will be out trick-or-treating the brick-laden road.
Justise Rhoden, executive director of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, gave advice and a premonition of the event so that all can have a haunting good time.
“It’s a fun, safe way for kids to trick-or-treat,” Rhoden said. “We know that sometimes, especially if you are new to the community, you don’t quite know your neighbors yet. So this is just a nice way to bring people together...You can also meet a lot of those people and just, you know, get our businesses out in front of a new crowd of people so that they can also hand out flyers, coupons, (candy or) whatever, just to show their support for our community and meet some new people.”
